Here's a combined picture of the backyard. The sprinkler system went in a couple of weeks ago, so I'm sure it will take the grass a while to recover--especially with all the shade back here. Our property goes back a little farther on the left side. The greenery in front of the peach-colored house is growing on our fence. The entire yard is about an acre, but somehow it seems a lot bigger.
Most of the plants in this bed have been in the ground for less than a month.
Harper's painting the pair of Adirondack chairs and table that we bought at a fundraiser auction. They're not made with cedar or treated lumber, so we'll probably store them in the garage until the porch is finished. I've been working inside on preparing the the sitting room and front bathroom for paint. The ceiling is the original beaded board and the gaps are pretty big between boards, so it has been a process. I've used Bondo and regular caulk--hopefully it won't contract too much.
Above is Fatty, my awesome black cochin rooster that protects the "flock." Below, Sargent is waiting to be let inside.
